L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate Calcium 151533-22-1

Introduction:

It is the calcium salt of l-5-methyltetrahydrofolate and belongs

to the folate family of vitamins (vitamin B9, folate).

It is a coenzyme form of folate. Calcium l-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) is

a naturally occurring salt forming methyl derivative of folic acid. 5-MTHF,

also known as l-methylfolic acid, is the most bioactive and functional

form of folic acid and is more easily absorbed than ordinary folic acid.

Function:

1.Folic acid deficiency can reduce the ability of DNA synthesis and repair.

Folic acid supplementation may be a more favorable method to

increase folic acid and reduce homocysteine level.

2.Support for normal cell proliferation, vascular endothelial function,

cardiovascular disease, nervous system function, especially during pregnancy,

5-MTHF supplementation has been shown to reduce the risk of neural tube defects and recurrence.
